Sia qualunque delle figlie -Don Magnifico's Aria #2 of La Cenerentola
Dressed in a turban and exotic costume, Levente Páll already looks the ideal Osmin. Through a perfectly judged range of expressions—from mockery and bewilderment at Blonde’s explanations to clumsy flirtation attempts and triumphant self-satisfaction when he catches the fugitives—he creates a vividly entertaining character. Vocally, too, his comically gruff palace overseer is nothing short of brilliant: impeccable intonation is combined with complete command of the deepest and most resonant register, delivered with both impressive power and remarkable agility in the rapid passages. In “Ha, wie will ich triumphieren,” the Hungarian bass particularly shines through the exceptionally long embellishments in his lowest range. It is evident that this ensemble member of Munich’s Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz takes immense pleasure in portraying the role—and the audience shares that delight.
Levente Páll’s richly dark bass proves ideally suited to the role of Konchak.
Levente Páll brought both authority and depth to the victorious Khan Konchak, his sonorous bass imbuing the character with dignity, humanity, and generosity of spirit. Rewarded with enthusiastic opening-night acclaim, his performance was truly one not to be missed.
As Khan Konchak, Levente Páll employs the rich, noble quality of his voice to create a portrait of a ruthless strategist and an unyielding ruler. His interpretation is devoid of any trace of vanity, focusing instead on the effortless command of his vocal resources. Both vocally and physically restrained, he achieves his effect through minimal means, embodying the hallmark of true authority: absolute control over oneself and one's surroundings. A performance of remarkable depth and contemporary relevance.
Levente Páll is also outstanding as Bluebeard, delivering the role with commanding vocal authority and lending this baritone part a lustrous, dark bass resonance that ideally matches the production’s brooding aesthetic.
