We are thrilled to welcome South African soprano Nombulelo Yende to the TACT roster!

A rising star on the international stage, Nombulelo is quickly capturing attention with her radiant voice and commanding presence. Her recent successes include performances as Tatyana in Eugene Onegin, Nastasja in Die Zauberin, Contessa in Le nozze di Figaro, and Micaëla in Carmen at Oper Frankfurt, as well as a standout appearance as Maria in Mazeppa at Tiroler Festspiele Erl.

She is a laureate of some of the world’s most prestigious vocal competitions, including Operalia (Opus Arte Prize, 2023), the Stanisław Moniuszko Vocal Competition (First Prize, 2022), Neue Stimmen (Audience Prize, 2019), and the Vincenzo Bellini Competition (Winner, 2018).

Nombulelo's exciting upcoming season features her debut as Mimì in La bohème at Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, the title role in Norma with Bühnen Bern, a return to Oper Frankfurt as Micaëla (Carmen) and Angèle (Der Zar lässt sich fotografieren), as well as concert performances at the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg and her solo recital debut at Wigmore Hall.
