We are delighted to welcome Iurii Iushkevich to our management roster. One of the world's leading most exciting rising countertenors, Iurii Iushkevich collaborates regularly with top theaters, stage directors, and conductors. He made his debut at the Vienna State Opera as Shepherd in Monteverdi’s L’Orfeo in 2022, at the Maggio Musicale di Firenze in staged performances of Bach's St. Matthew Passion (with Kent Nagano and Romeo Castellucci), and at the Salzburger Festspiele as Arbate in Mozart's Mitridate in 2025 (conducted by Adam Fischer).
He next sings Nerone L'Incoronazione di Poppea in Tatjana Gürbaca's new production at Opéra National de Lyon, where he also sang Fyodor in Vasily Barkhatov's new production of Boris Godunov earlier this season. He enjoys a strong collaboration with Oper Frankfurt, with many recent new productions and three more planned for the coming season. Most recently he triumphed there as 1st Angel / Boy in Written on Skin, winning tremendous critical acclaim: "His countertenor voice possesses a weightless, almost otherworldly beauty, yet retains a sorrowful groundedness at its core... he mastered the extreme high notes with ease."
Other recent highlights include Lel The Snow Maiden at the Tiroler Festspiel Erl, Giulio Cesare in Egitto and L'Invisible in Frankfurt, and the lead role of Ich in world premiere of Kalitzke's Kapitän Nemos Bibliothek in a co-production of the Bregenz and Schwetzingen SWR Festivals, as well as appearances at Oper Leipzig, Carnegie Hall in New York, the Berlin Philharmonie, the St Petersburg Philharmonic, the Moscow Philharmonic and the Main Auditorium of the Moscow Conservatory. In future seasons, he is re-engaged at many of the world's finest theaters and debuts at La Monnaie de Munt.
