Since 2020 Ilia Kazakov has been a member of the Young Artist Program of the Wiener Staatsoper. His engagements include roles at La Traviata, Die Entführung ins Zauberreich, Ariadne auf Naxos, Aida, Carmen, Falstaff, Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Boris Godunov, I Puritani, Tosca, Manon Lescaut, Ariadna Lecouvreur. Zuniga in Carmen in St. Margarethen Oper im Steinbruch.
Education & Awards:
Born in 1992, Ilia Kazakov has a degree in choir conducting and studied vocals with M.V. Rodchikova and A.P. Cilinko. In 2019 Ilia became the Winner and Special Prize winner of the Galina Vishnevskaya VII International Singing Competition. The same year he joined the Galina Vishnevskaya Opera Studio in Moscow where he performed a number of bass roles. His repertoire comprises Russian, German and French operatic parts and Lieder.
