Debuts at the Dutch National Opera in Amsterdam in a world creation Animal Farm by Alexander Raskatov and at the Vienna State Opera singing double roles Benjamin/Young Actress; Pink Giant in GerMANIA at the Opera National de Lyon. In concert, he performed solo parts in Carmina Burana by Orff, Stabat Mater by Rossini, Messa di Gloria by Puccini and Rossini in collaboration with the orchestra "Les siècles romantiques" supervised by Jean-Philippe Dubor.

Für Karl Laquit, der in GerMANIA den »Rosa Riesen« verkörperte, jenen Serienmörder, der in den Wendejahren in Ostdeutschland wütete, hat Raskatov nicht nur den Esel Benjamin kompo niert, der – obwohl er die Propagandalügen durch schaut – sich aus allem herauszuhalten versucht und am Ende nicht verhindern kann, dass das Zugpferd Boxer, sein einziger Freund, an den Abdecker ver schachert wird. Laquits vier Oktaven umfassendes Register macht es möglich, dass er auch die Episoden figur der Pigetta übernimmt, jener jungen Schauspie lerin, die das Rendezvous mit Beria (alias »Squealer«) nicht überlebt.

Dutch National Opera - Raskatov - Animal Farm - Benjamin
The tenor Karl Laquit was cast in two roles, as Pigetta and as Benjamin, the old and cynical donkey, which allowed him to show off his interpretive skills. His wide vocal range allowed him to successfully portray the two very different characters, in which he embraced the high tessitura of the female Pigetta with ease. His ability to incorporate the braying sound of a donkey was equally notable.
