Debut as Barnaba La Gioconda at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, as Scarpia Tosca and Don Carlo La forza del destino. At the Oper Köln the title role Rigoletto. As Tonio I Pagliacci, Onegin, Valentin Faust, Amonsaro Aida, Renato Don Carlo, High Priest of Dagon Samson et Dalila at Mariinsky Theater. At Basel and Deutsche Oper Berlin as Guy de Montfort Les vepres siciliennes and the main character Rigoletto.

Debut at the Dutch National Opera I Pagliacci/Cavalleria Rusticana as Tonio and Alfio, also at the Grand Théâtre de Genève and Opernhaus Zürich. The title role Prince Igor at the Bolshoi Theatre Moscow, Stankar Stiffelio at the Bilbao Opera, Dunois concert version Tchaikovsky's Orleanskaya Deva at the Grand Théâtre de Genève. At Deutsche Oper Berlin as Gérard Andrea Chénier, Tomsky Pique Dame*, Renato Un ballo in maschera. At Las Palmas Opera as Ford Falstaff. At Opernhaus Zürich as Enrico Lucia di Lammermoor, Gergiev Festival with Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra Prokofiev’s Ivan The Terrible, Glyndebourne Festival as Ford Falstaff, Royal Danish Opera Copenhagen, Opernhaus Zürich, Mariinsky Theater and Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra Moscow as Tomsky Pique Dame.  Title role Nabucco at Grand Théâtre de Genève. Debut at the Bayerische Staatsoper as Belcore L'elisir d'amore. At Mariinsky Theatre as Germont La traviata, Renato Un Ballo in Maschera, Ford Falstaff, Boccanegra Simon Boccanegra, Igor Prince Igor, Alberich Das Rheingold, Di Luna Il Trovatore, Escamillo Carmen, and Michonnet Adriana Lecouvreur. Ook bariton Roman Burdenko is sterk, gedeeltelijk als invaller, in een driedubbelrol, al direct als de Proloog die waarschuwt dat we mensen van vlees en bloed te zien zullen krijgen, wat je hier heel dubbelzinnig moet opvatten, daarna als de mismaakte reus Tonio in Pagliacci en als de ongelukkige bedrogen Alfio in Cavalleria.
