We are thrilled to welcome Dutch bass-baritone Martin-Jan Nijhof to TACT's roster!
After regular engagements in Passau, Regensburg, and Magdeburg, Martin-Jan has been a permanent member of the Dresden Semperoper ensemble since 2016. Over the years he has played the roles of Don Giovanni, Figaro in Le nozze di Figaro, Escamillo in Carmen, Wozzeck, Kaspar in Der Freischütz, Four Villains in Les contes d'Hoffmann, Colline in La Bohème, Orest in Elektra, Raimondo in Lucia di Lammermoor, Orovese in Norma, and Bottom in A Midsummer Night's Dream.
In the near future Martin-Jan's excellent performance can be seen as Doctor (Jesus) in The Nose, Baron von Trombonok in Il viaggio a Reims, Colline in La Bohème, Sprecher in Die Zauberflöte, Truffaldin in Ariadne auf Naxos, Alessio in La Sonnambula, Hans Foltz in Die Meistersinger, Surin in Pique Dame – all of it at Semperoper in Dresden.
