Aigul Akhmetishina makes a striking debut at the DOB

Aigul Akhmentshina, who became an overnight sensation last season as the youngest Carmen to grace the stage of the Royal Opera House, made her Deutsche Oper Berlin debut past weekend. 

Opening the theater's season alongside international stars Anna Netrebko and Yusef Eivazov, Ms Akhmetshina wowed the audience in the role of Mademoiselle Dangeville Adriana Lecouvreur.

Already known for her dark, sultry mezzo timbre and her breathtaking looks, it is clear that Ms Akhmetshina is quickly set to become a favorite on the international operatic scene.
