Aigul Akmetshina began her season with a return to the Royal Opera House in "Royal Opera: Live in concert", company's first event since March.

"The young Russian mezzo-soprano Aigul Akhmetshina, a member of the Royal Opera’s Jette Parker Young Artists Programme proved what a great investment she’s been for the house, in a rendition of Non più mesta from Rossini’s Cinderella that was pert, agile and altogether winning. "  - writes The Telegraph.

"Outsinging some of her elder and pricier colleagues, the Russian mezzo-soprano Aigul Akhmetshina, just 24, showed star quality...She was stunning, however, in a velvety-voiced, emotionally giddy Non piu mesta from Rossini’s Cinderella." - The Times.

The all-star cast concert, under the baton of Antonio Pappano, was held on September 4th, and will be available to watch on demand for 30 days until Sunday, October 4th on ROH's website.

Aigul's upcoming season's engagements include Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 at the Palau de la Música Catalana in Barcelona,  debuts at the New National Theatre Tokyo as Prinz Orlofsky in Die Fledermaus, at Zurich Opera as Rosina in Il barbiere di Siviglia and in Glyndebourne's Kát'a Kabanová as Varvara.
