Wiener Staatsoper announced it’s next season with an all-star cast, including Boris Pinkhasovich, Adam Palka, Tamuna Gochashvili, Joanna Kedzior and Evgeny Solodovnikov.
Boris Pinkhasovich returns to Vienna as Sharpless in the premiere of Puccini’s Madama Butterfly. The production will open the season on September 7. Boris will be also performing as Malatesta Don Pasquale and Figaro Il Barbiere di Siviglia.
Adam Palka will make his house debut in his highly-acclaimed role of Mephistopheles in Gonoud’s Faust, with premiere scheduled on April 23.
Starting from the season 20/21 sopranos Joanna Kedzior & Tamuna Gochashvili, as well as bass Evgeny Solodovnikov join the ensemble of Wiener Staatsoper.
Joanna Kedzior will be making her house debut as Adina in Donizetti's L’elisir d’Amore, Tamuna Gochashvili will appear as Tatiana in Eugene Onegin and Liù in Puccini’s Turandot , joined by Evgeny Solodovnikov as Timur. Solodovnikov also takes on Vodnik in Dvorak’s Rusalka , and the famous vilain Sparafucile in Verdi’s Rigoletto.
Baritone Stefan Astakhov and bass Artyom Wasnetsov will make their house debuts as members of the Young Artists Program.
Liubov Orfenova brings her musical and language expertise to the production of Eugene Onegin.
