Raymond Ayers, baritone
Raymond Ayers is a frequent guest with the Minnesota Orchestra having performed in Bernstein's Mass (Celebrant), Angelotti in Tosca, Marcello La Bohème, Zuniga and Escamillo cover in Carmen, and the Father in Hänsel and Gretel.
He has performed Schaunard in La Bohème, Dancaire in Carmen and Le Minstre Premier in Cendrillon (New York City Opera), Scapin in L'Ile de Merlin (New Orleans Opera), Guglielmo in Cosi fan tutte and Schaunard in La Bohème (Chautauqua Opera), Carmina Burana (The Harvard Chorale, Boston).
Raymond Ayers started his European career performing Silvio in Pagliacci, Dandini in La Cenerentola and Chucho in the German premier of Salsi Puedes with Theater Hagen in Germany.
In the meanwhile he returned to the States with performances of Sondheim's A Little Night Music (Carl Magnus) with the San Diego Lyric Opera and sang Carmina Burana at Festival de Radio France Montpellier.
Upcoming operatic roles include Ottokar in Freischütz, Der König in Drei Rätsel, Germont / Douphol in La Traviata, Jupiter in Orpheus in der Unterwelt. Wolf in Into the Woods, Harry Esther in Street Scene, Silvio in I Pagliacci (all at Theater Hagen), Carl-Magnus Malcolm in A Little Night Music (San Diego Lyric Opera).
Raymond Ayers maintains an active concert schedule having performed with the Central City Orchestra, Delaware Jazz Festival Orchestra, Duluth Festival Orchestra, Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, Princeton Pro Musica, Princeton Symphony Orchestra and the Minnesota Orchestra.
