Adrian Strooper, tenor

Adrian Strooper, originally from Australia, trained at the Opera Studio in Cologne, Germany.

He has performed Tamino in Die Zauberflöte (New Zealand, Komische Oper Berlin, and Sydney), Pedrillo in Die Entführung aus dem Serail, Jaquino in Fidelio (Auckland Symphony Orchestra, New Zealand), Pastore 2 and Spirito 2 in Monteverdi's Orfeo (Festival Aix-en-Provence, R. Jacobs, conductor), and Acis in Händel's Acis and Galathea (Berliner Bach Academy in Madrid).

Being a permanent resident soloist at Komische Oper Berlin at present, Adrian Strooper has performed Tamino in Die Zauberflöte and Pylades in Händel's Orest among others.

Adrian Strooper has performed Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni and Requiem by Mozart (Komische Oper Berlin), Ferrando in Cosi fan tutte (Festival Chateau de la Sédière, France), Brighella in Ariadne auf Naxos (Leipzig), Bruno in I Puritani (Toulon, France), Tschekalinski in Pique Dame (Komische Oper Berlin), Ernesto in Don Pasquale, Belmonte in Die Entführung aus dem Serail, and  Gaston in La Traviata (Komische Oper Berlin),

He will sing Benvolio in Gounod's Romeo et Juliette (Salzburger Festsiele),  Tamino in Die Zauberflöte (on tour with Opéra Comique Paris in Grenoble, Luxembourg, Milano, London Barbican Centre, New York Lincoln Centre), among others.

and participated in the DVD-Recording of Haydn's Armida performing Rinaldo.
