Elena Galitskaya, soprano
Elena Galitskaya made her debut Opéra national de Lyon performing Lyusya in Shostakovich's Moscow Tcheremushki and has been imeadiately invited to perform Laurie in A. Copland's The Tender Land.
Her repertory includes Pamina in Die Zauberflote, Caterina in Donizetti's Caterina Cornaro, Norina in Don Pasquale, Madama Cortese in Il viaggio a Reims, Giulietta in I Capuleti e i Montecchi, the title role in Massenet's Manon, Juliette in Romeo et Juliette, Elena in I Vespri Siciliani, the title part in Snow Maiden, and Marfa in The Tsar's Bride.
Upcoming engagements include Zerlina in Don Giovanni and Barbarina in Le Nozze di Figaro (both in Lyon), and Daughter Podtochina in The Nose (Lyon and Festival d'Aix-en-Provence), among others.
Elena Galitskaya frequently gives recitals and concerts. She has performed Mozart's Requiem, J.S. Bach's Johannes Passion, Schubert's Messe in C-dur, Mendelssohn's Elias, Honegger's Jeanne d'Arc, Mahler's 8th Symphony, melodies and lieder by Schumann, Strauss, Wolf, Shostakovich, and also romances by Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninov, Taneev, and Rimsky-Korsakov.
Elena Galitskaya has performed in Germany, Japan, the United States and at the Festival of Colmar in France. She has worked with conductors such as James Conlon, Yuri Temirkanov, Krzysztof Penderecki, Kirill Karabits and Thomas Sanderling, and has sung regularly with Vladimir Spivakov and the Moscow Virtuosi.
