Kleopatra Papatheologou, mezzo soprano
Kleopatra Papatheologou, has been a member of the La Scala Academy in Milano, where she performed the leading part in Rinaldo by Händel and Berta in Il Barbiere di Siviglia. She has sung roles such as Melibea in Il Viaggio a Reims (Rossini Opera Festival, Pesaro), Luigi V in Ugo conte di Parigi by Donizetti (Teatro Massimo Bellini, Catania), Wowkle in La Fanciulla del West (ZaterdagMatinee, Concertgebouw Amsterdam), Baba in The Medium by Menotti (Wilhelma Theater, Stuttgart), Dritte Magd in Elektra (Staatstheater Stuttgart and Freiburg, Germany), Lucia in La gazza ladra (Rossini Opera Festival, Pesaro) and Zulma in L'Italiana in Algeri (Megaron, Athene).
She has appeared in the Music Film A Taste of Rossini (broadcasted by ARTE and the German Saarländischer Rundfunk), Flora in La Traviata (Noord Nederlands Orkest), Myrthala in Thais (Megaron, Athene), and Alt Solo in Der Sturm by Frank Martin (NPS, Concertgebouw, Amsterdam).
Recent and upcoming engagements include Marchesa Melibea in Il Viaggio a Reims (Avignon, Reims, Massy, Clermont-Ferrand, Montpellier, Toulon, Nancy, Toulouse, Marseille and Bordeaux), Lucia in Rossini's La Gazza Ladra (Bologna), and Marcelina in Le Nozze di Figaro (Nancy), among others.
