After his debut as Gran Sacerdote in Nabucco at Bregenzer Festspiele, Konstantin Gorny has been performing throughout Germany singing Gremin in Eugene Onegin (Leipzig and Frankfurt), Colline in La Bohème (Dresden), Sarastro in Die Zauberflöte (Wiesbaden, Weimar), and Oroveso in Norma (Stuttgart).

His international breakthrough came in 1998, with his appearance as Gremin in Eugene Onegin at Gran teatro del Liceu in Barcelona, where he returned in the following season as Sarastro in Die Zauberflöte and Ramphis in Aida.

Further international engagements followed - Cagliari, Genoa, Strasbourg, Napoli, Palermo, and Torino. Here he performed with Mirella Freni in La Pulzella d'Orleans, and sang Banco in Macbeth (Bruno Bartoletti, conductor).

Highlights of recent seasons include appearances as Virgil's Shadow in Francesca da Rimini (Konzerthaus Berlin), Sparafucile in Rigoletto (Napoli, Tokyo, and Roma), Fiesco in Simon Boccanegra and Kotchubey in Mazeppa (both in Karlsruhe), Padre Guardiano in La Forza del Destino (Piacenza), Sarastro in Die Zauberflöte (Wiesbaden, Genova, Granada), Four Villains in Les Contes d'Hoffmann (Bilbao, DVD Production), Tom in Un Ballo in Maschera (Amsterdam), the title role in Don Quichotte (Lublijana), Don Giovanni (Karlsruhe, Leipzig, and Avenches Opera Festival), Kaspar in Der Freischütz (Karlsruhe), Il Re in Aida (Arena di Verona, Montpellier and Palermo), Zaccaria in Nabucco (Arena di Verona and Venice), Salieri in Mozart and Salieri (Festival de Radio France, Montpellier).

More recently, Konstantin Gorny has performed Gremin in Eugene Onegin (Stuttgart) and

made his debut as Filippo II in Don Carlos (Karlsruhe).

Upcoming engagements include Don Giovanni again (Leipzig), Filippo II in Don Carlos, Massimiliano in Masnadieri, Don Alfonso in Cosi fan tutte, Sarastro in Die Zauberflöte (Karlsruhe), Gremin in Eugene Onegin (Lucerne Festival), Walter in Luisa Miller (Stuttgart), and the title role in Boito's Mefistofele (Montpellier).

Konstantin Gorny was awarded the title 'Kammersänger' in 2005/06.
