“THE FLYING DUTCHMAN” EKATERINBURG OPERA HOUSE IN MOSCOW (BOLSHOI THEATRE, MARCH 19, 2015)
As for performance, it’s all above the price! Krasnov was gorgeous as The Dutchman with his deep, strong voice, rich timbre, free and easy phonation, rich, various and delicate gradation, plus his outstanding dramatic talent allowed to display the infernal charm of a demonic sufferer, with his oscillation between despair and hope, and most of all - his nobility and greatness of spirit, so often deficient in the interpretation of this character.

EKATERINBURG - THE FLYING DUTCHMAN
... two graduates of Ural State Conservatory appear in personal competitive categories . Among
them, especially good is Alexander Krasnov – the owner of sonorous bass-baritone with a large
diapason, enviably strong and sturdier, but not high-pitched at the same time, and capable to give
a smooth legato. His Dutchman, accustomed to the wavy sea, is walking on the ground with heavy steps, his athletic body speaks of good health, so it would be enough for another seven-year curse, if the salvation for Wagnerian hero had not been granted.

VERDI - OTELLO - IAGO
In contrast, Alexander Krasnov - a magnificent type exactly for this performance, is showing fine
psychological game, impressive acting, plastic, and remarkable vocal, expressive and accurate
intonation. If in the cozy and good-natured figure of V. Alexeev there was not a spark of villainy,
the hero of A. Krasnov couldn’t be a better villain. He is intelligent, charming, cunning,
provident, respectable and quite modern!
